Meet Malerie

Our story

I knew from the moment I saw that bucket of dahlias I wanted to fill my life with the beauty of flowers. They didn’t even look real! They were pastel pink, as big around as both of my hands put together, each petal layered against the other to form perfection. Something inside of me came alive…

My husband and I booked a trip to the mountains of Asheville, NC. Niki with Flourish Flower Farm walked us through flower farming 101. The beauty that comes from the growth of a seed was beyond my understanding. At that time, I knew nothing about growing flowers. I didn’t even have a favorite flower. The only thing I had successfully kept alive was a cactus (and my children). Kevin and I were just on the other side of a difficult season in our lives (to say the least). The thought of creating something so beautiful felt refreshing. I left her farm feeling revived, and if I’m honest, completely overwhelmed! We had so many things to consider, the timing wasn’t right. We put the thought of a flower farm in the far corner of the to do list. I was starting to think it would never happen.

God’s timing is always perfect. Four years later… I am finally starting a flower farm. What felt so overwhelming then, turned into a sense of urgency years later. One thing I have learned during the season of waiting, our lives and our relationship with Christ should reflect something of the life cycle of a flower. When the seed is planted and Christ is the center of your life, EVERYTHING changes.

If you plant a seed and provide the proper growing conditions, it will grow. It wants to grow! With intentional nourishment it will grow into a plant and produce a beautiful flower. That flower will be harvested to provide a ray of sunshine to someone’s day.

A relationship with Christ requires the same intentional nourishment. He can grow you into something beautiful for His Kingdom and His Glory. He is the firm foundation and the only way to a perfect eternity. I pray this business will reflect His love and mercy. Let’s grow something beautiful!
